I recently enjoyed reading Read Write Own by Chris Dixon, particularly how he broke down the history of the internet. Several themes from the book resonated with me. One that stood out was the dynamic between reading and writing—between consuming and creating. In our modern world, we’re surrounded by products and conveniences made by others, which make life easier and more entertaining. However, I believe that true balance—and even health—comes when we actively participate in creation ourselves.
If you spend most of your time “reading” or consuming what others create, it’s essential to try “writing,” or creating, more. On the other hand, if your expression feels dominated by anger or sadness, I recommend “reading” more—immerse yourself in others' works. There’s an infinite wealth of knowledge and inspiration out there. I believe that fostering a love for learning, both in knowledge and self-expression, is vital.
While it’s great to both read and write, the ultimate test comes in creating a final shared project—putting your knowledge and expression into something tangible. That’s my goal. I want you to share your art, your unique voice. That’s what “owning” means to me. If you’re not ready to share your work just yet, that’s perfectly fine. In the meantime, I encourage you to keep both reading and writing, learning and creating.
I make my art for others—for you. If this website inspires you to create more art, thank you. I believe you’re taking meaningful steps toward a healthy, fulfilling life. In this section, I’ll highlight art that I’ve received from others. I don’t seek payment for my artwork; what matters most to me is seeing your own creations come to life.
